Class 1 - Reception

Welcome to Class 1

Class teacher:  Mrs Ashlyn Nixon

2023 - 2024

2022 - 2023

During their 'Welly Walk' the children were asked to think of things that were autumnal to see if they could find things to add to their autumn explorer tray.

Creating our own 'Bake Off' challenge, the children had great fun creating 'Autumn Owls' from pancakes, blueberries, bananas and apples.

As October draws to a close and November begins, the children have enjoyed creating pumpkin soup in their sensory kitchen and dressing up as a variety of 'spooky' characters!

The first two weeks of December have been a flurry of Christmas activities as the children have prepared for their first school Nativity performance in the Church.  Everyone has had great fun learning Christmas songs.

During our Arctic Explorer day, we experimented with ice! We predicted what would melt the quickest, wrote down our predictions, carried out the experiment and then evaluated our results.

The children have been germinating their own bean seeds in little window bags.  They will spend the next few weeks examine the change in the beans, drawing and labelling images of the growing process.

The children had a wonderful time during their farm visit.  They fed the lambs, petted the calves, cuddled the chicks and paid a visit to the two bullocks, Boris and Dynamo!
